About CRISTAL® (Medical Cryo Lipolysis)

By focally cooling and crystallizing the fat, the fat cells are killed (cell death).
The dead fat is eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system over a period of about two months, resulting in a focal slimming effect.

CRISTAL Treatment Steps

  • STEP 1
    Before the treatment with CRISTAL®, the fat cells are tightly compacted.
  • STEP 2
    Cooling causes fat cells to crystallize, which in turn causes apoptosis (death of fat cells)
  • STEP 3
    The macrophages remove the crystallized fat cells, which are then eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system.
  • STEP 4
    The treated area will transform over a few weeks and the excess fat cells will be eliminated.

How does the CRISTAL® procedure work?

⑴Place the Crystal® Cryoprotective Gel Pad on the area to be treated.
⑵ Place the applicator on the gel pad and start suction and cooling.

Flow of CRISTAL®Treatment

  • Counseling

    We will discuss and determine the indications for treatment during the counseling.

  • Measuring the folds of fat.

    Photos are taken prior to treatment.
    To determine the treatment parameters (protocol).

  • On the treatment bed, an anti-freeze protection pad will be placed on the area to be treated.
  • Begin Cooling + Suction.

    The time required is about 60 minutes. You can read or listen to music in a relaxed state. Another treatment can be done at the same time. (Depends on the treatment plan)

  • The machine will stop automatically when the treatment is done

    Remove the applicator and protective pad. Massage and warm the area being treated for 10 minutes.

  • End of treatment

    After 4 to 6 weeks: results begin to appear; After 8 to 12 weeks: maximum effect.

Post-treatment Care at home

Massage the treated area during or after showering at home for one week after the treatment. After the treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, small bruises, and numbness in the treated area.

Since fat cells are gradually eliminated from the body through the immune system, results are not seen immediately after treatment.

Depending on the patient, results will begin to appear after about 4-6 weeks, and fat excretion will continue for about 8-12 weeks after treatment.

How long does the CRISTAL® procedure take?
The cooling time per session is 60, 90, or 45 minutes, depending on the area to be treated. You can enjoy the treatment while reading a book or listening to music.

During treatment

    • Discomfort may be experienced in the area being treated.
    • You may feel a deep tightening or pinching sensation, intense tingling, or cramping.

These sensations will subside within about 10 minutes of treatment.

After treatment

    • Internal bleeding, swelling, tenderness, cramping, tingling, numbness, and temporary decolorization may occur.
    • The treated area may become stiff, bruised, and red.
    • You may experience nausea or dizziness in some cases in response to the treatment.

These reactions are usually rare and will subside within a few minutes to a few hours.

    • Sensation in the treated area may be lost.
    • Itching, stinging, numbness, hypersensitivity to touch, tingling, spasms, and painful muscle contractions may occur.

These are all secondary effects that have been reported after treatment with fat cooling slimming. Symptoms will lessen with time and subside in a few days to a few weeks. There are no restrictions in daily life, but you may feel pain during exercise.

    • In rare cases, in addition to discomfort of the vagus nerve, burns, brown discoloration of the skin, rigidity, desensitization, and deformation of the treated area may occur. In this case, a corrective surgery may be required. Some of the symptoms mentioned in “Possible Postoperative Symptoms” may occur later.
