Causes of the disease<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Xp11.22 duplication syndrome is a condition caused by a genetic duplication in the p11.22 region of the X chromosome. This duplication leads to overexpression of certain genes, affecting the nervous system and development. The duplication is usually inherited from a parent or occurs as a de novo mutation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Symptoms\"><\/span>2. Symptoms<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Developmental Delays<\/strong>&nbsp;: There may be delays in language, motor and cognitive development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Intellectual disability<\/strong>&nbsp;: Mild to moderate intellectual disability has been reported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Behavioral abnormalities<\/strong>&nbsp;: Autism spectrum disorder and hyperactivity may be present.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hypotonia<\/strong>&nbsp;: You may experience muscle weakness or decreased muscle tone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other physical characteristics<\/strong>&nbsp;: Some patients may have distinctive facial shapes or physical abnormalities, but there is a lot of individual variation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Treatment\"><\/span>3. Treatment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Developmental Support<\/strong>&nbsp;: Support development through speech, language, physical and occupational therapy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Behavioral Therapy<\/strong>&nbsp;: Psychological and behavioral therapy can be used to treat behavioral problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other Medical Management<\/strong>&nbsp;: Provide medical management and\/or medical support as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Prognosis\"><\/span>4.
