Botulinum Toxin Injection

Wrinkles

What is botulinum toxin injection?

One of the most common procedures to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, botulinum toxin injections act on facial muscles to temporarily paralyze them, making them less likely to wrinkle. Botulinum toxin injections strongly suppress the acetylcholine transmitter from nerve terminals, thereby reducing the stimulation from the nerves to the muscles and muscle weakness. In addition to wrinkles, botulinum toxin injections are also effective for hyperhidrosis.

Are botulinum toxin injections effective for all wrinkles?

Not all wrinkles are effective.
Botulinum toxin injections are effective for wrinkles that are caused by muscle contraction, so they are effective for the plumose wrinkles between the eyebrows, on the forehead, at the corners of the eyes, and on the chin. Injections into the gills also have a small face effect.

Why are botulinum toxin injections effective for hyperhidrosis?

Botulinum toxin injections in the shallow subcutaneous area of the armpit strongly block acetylcholine, a transmitter from the autonomic nervous system to the sweat glands, thereby blocking the apocrine sweat glands and reducing sweating.

How long do the effects of botulinum toxin injections last?

Botulinum toxin injections usually appear after 36 to 48 hours, depending on the treatment site, and the effects last for 3 to 6 months. In general, the effects of the second and subsequent injections last longer than the first. Repeated botulinum toxin injections also have the effect of preventing wrinkles from deepening.

Can botulinum toxin injections cause addiction?

Botulinum toxin is known to cause food poisoning, which may sound a little scary, but botulinum toxin injections do not inject botulinum itself, but only a very small amount of botulinum toxin, which is the toxin of botulinum, so there is no risk of poisoning.

How long is the treatment time for botulinum toxin injections?

Please consider that botulinum toxin injections take about 10 minutes.

Is there any pain or swelling after botulinum toxin injection?

There is almost no pain or swelling. There is no downtime, so you can go about your daily life as usual after the injection.

Can I receive botulinum toxin injections during pregnancy?

Since there are no clear reports of a cause-and-effect relationship with pregnancy, we request that our clinics avoid treatment during pregnancy and lactation.

I have hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet. Please let me know if you offer treatment for hands and feet.

We also offer botulinum toxin injections for hyperhidrosis.
This treatment is very pleasing to those who suffer from this condition, as it considerably reduces sweating and makes it more comfortable. Since the pain associated with the injection is much worse than that of the armpits due to the acute sensation in the hands and feet, we provide a set of surface anesthesia.
First, a strong surface anesthesia is applied to the area to be treated.
In addition, just before the injection, we cool the area with a cooling agent to make it even more numb, and then perform the treatment quickly.
The treatment time for the injection alone is 20-30 minutes, and including counseling and preparation before and after the treatment, about 1 hour is sufficient. If anesthesia is required, we will take an additional 30 minutes.

hyaluronic acid

WrinklesSagging

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient found in the human body (especially in the skin and joints). It has excellent water retention properties and maintains skin tension and elasticity.

What is the difference between the various types of hyaluronic acid?

There are two types of medical hyaluronic acid: hyaluronic acid for joint treatment and hyaluronic acid for cosmetic surgery. Hyaluronic acid for joint treatment is quickly absorbed and is not suitable for cosmetic treatments. On the other hand, hyaluronic acid for cosmetic use has different molecular sizes and cross-linking depending on the product, and is designed to have long-lasting therapeutic effects. In addition, both medical and cosmetic hyaluronic acid are non-animal derived, biotechnologically produced products, so there is no risk of infection.

Why does hyaluronic acid have a long-lasting effect?

This is because hyaluronic acid is processed to slow down its absorption by creating artificial bonds (cross-links) between hyaluronic acid molecules so that it stays longer in the body.

Will I be allergic to hyaluron injections?

Hyaluronic acid is a component found in the human body, so there is little concern about allergic reactions.
The frequency of allergy to hyaluronic acid is reported to be 0.0012%, and its safety has been proven through many years of use in joint therapy.

Are there any side effects?

Hyaluronic acid can be used to treat the following Dark circles and sagging under the eyes, laugh lines, marionette lines (wrinkles from the mouth to the chin), deep wrinkles on the forehead, at the corners of the eyes, and between the eyebrows, indentations on the temples and cheeks, nose enhancement, lip plumping, chin augmentation, breast augmentation, etc.
There are other areas where hyaluronic acid treatment is indicated, so please consult us for more details.

Does hyaluronic acid injection cause pain?

Although pain varies depending on the injection site, hyaluronic acid is highly viscous and therefore causes some pain when injected. We offer hyaluronic acid with anesthesia to minimize pain.
We also have anesthetics that can be applied to the area.

When should I have my next injection after hyaluronic acid injections?

Additional injections can be made on the same day if desired. Also, since hyaluronic acid is gradually absorbed, additional injections are recommended if you become concerned about the appearance of your skin.

Are there any precautions to take after hyaluronic acid injections?

After hyaluronic acid injections, you can go about your normal daily activities and may apply makeup immediately after treatment. Bathing and exercise are allowed, but please refrain from massaging the injection site on the same day.

I have dark circles under my eyes and fine wrinkles. I am considering injecting hyaluronic acid, but I am concerned about the pain since it is under my eyes.

If you are concerned about the dark circles under your eyes, hyaluronic acid is a good choice for immediate improvement in that area. Hyaluronic acid is injected with a very fine needle, and the hyaluronic acid itself is mixed with anesthesia, so the pain is very mild. All of our patients say that it is almost painless.
If you are not comfortable with injections or are worried about the risks associated with injections (internal bleeding, etc.), we also offer a treatment using a machine that tightens the skin itself to make it firmer and reduce the appearance of dark circles and fine lines. We will guide you to the treatment method that best suits your symptoms and wishes after examining your actual condition.

I would like to know if hyaluronic acid injections can be performed on the same day or if a pre-treatment consultation is required. I would also like to know the approximate time required on the day of the procedure.

If you would like to have a consultation and depending on the results, treatment on the same day, that is also possible. The treatment time can be as short as 30 minutes. If the treatment area is small, we will wipe off makeup and disinfect the area. Makeup and face wash can be done on the same day.

What are the effects and prices of hyaluronic acid injections for laugh lines?

Hyaluronic acid injections are recommended for pinpointing and immediately diminishing wrinkles of concern. It is excellent for lifting wrinkles and making them appear flatter. Injections need to be repeated regularly, as they gradually break down and wrinkles will gradually come back after about six months. The price depends on the depth of the wrinkles and the amount used, but a minimum of 50,000 yen is often required.

I heard that I can receive the treatment on the same day, but how long does it take from the consultation? Also, if I am pregnant, can I still receive the treatment?

We will examine your symptoms and guide you to the appropriate treatment method, and if you wish, you can have the treatment performed on the same day. The consultation takes less than 30 minutes, and the treatment with hyaluronic acid takes about 20 minutes.

Regarding treatment during pregnancy, hyaluronic acid is a component that exists in the body, so theoretically it is unlikely that injecting it into the skin will have an adverse effect on the fetus.

However, it cannot be said that the stress caused by the pain of the injections will have no effect at all, and no tests have been conducted on pregnant women to see if any of the treatments are safe, so it is difficult to say that safety has not been established.
If you know you are pregnant, we cannot recommend any treatment, so please use your own judgment.

Photo RF

Blemish

What is photo RF? And for what kind of problems is it effective?

Photo RF is a machine that can irradiate two types of light, IPL (photo) and RF (radio frequency), at the same time.
Since it includes wavelengths that react to black and red
It improves red face and acne scars such as freckles, capillary vascular dilation, and removes dullness of the skin at the same time.
RF also strongly stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which improves sagging and pore size.

I have weak skin. Is it safe to treat it?

Photo RF can be safely applied even to those with sensitive skin.
At our clinic, we will perform a test irradiation and adjust the output according to the condition of your skin.
Please rest assured.

Can I have other treatments on the same day I have photo RF?

Yes, we recommend that the patient be treated with a peel on the same day.
Our clinic recommends a combination of peels on the same day.
Botulinum toxin injections and hyaluronic acid can also be treated on the same day.

Is there pain?

There will be a slight pain as if you were popped with a rubber band, but rest assured that the pain is not unbearable.

Are there any post-treatment precautions?

There will be almost no hindrance to daily life.
Some burning sensation and redness may occur from the day of irradiation to the next day, but it is safe to wear makeup immediately after the treatment.
It is safe to wear makeup immediately after the treatment.
Also, since the skin is sensitive to ultraviolet rays after the irradiation, please use sunscreen.

I had a Q-Switch laser treatment at another clinic. After the scab was removed, it turned black. Does PhotoRF have such a problem?

Based on the type of spots, the number of treatments desired, and other consultation results, we will select the most appropriate treatment from Q-switched laser, photo RF, laser toning, oral and topical medications, and other treatments,
Laser toning, oral and topical medications, and other treatments.
Laser treatment is very powerful at one time, but it is also very damaging to the skin.
There is inevitably a pigmentation period of several months.
Photo RF is also recommended if you have several spots and it is difficult to tape several areas at once, if you want a treatment that does less damage to your skin and can be performed on the entire face, or if you want to have a whiter, clearer skin or to restore elasticity and luster to your skin texture.
In this treatment, melanin may temporarily float to the surface like soot, but unlike scabs, it does not appear to be a scab.
It is not like a scab, but more like a film of color floating on the surface.
There is no need to protect it with tape, and you can wash your face and apply makeup as usual.
The sooty floaters will gradually disappear over the course of a week or so and return to your original skin, and you will be able to wash your face and make up normally.
You can see that the spots are fading a little.

Laser Toning

Blemish

I have a lot of spots and I would like to do laser toning to get rid of them.
Usually it is once a week, but I don't have much time, so I am thinking that six treatments twice a week would be good if I can expect better results than once a week.
Is twice-weekly irradiation actually more effective than once a week?

The effectiveness of treatments that break down pigmentation varies depending on the type of blemish. Therefore, it is difficult to provide an accurate answer without first examining your actual skin condition. However, if you have prominent, well-defined round or granular blemishes caused by UV exposure, the “Photo RF” treatment may be an effective option.

This treatment is particularly strong in lightening darker areas, making it highly effective at reducing the contrast between lighter and darker spots. Typically, with Photo RF alone, the treatment is repeated 6-8 times at intervals of about three weeks to gradually lighten the blemishes. However, if your goal is to achieve results within a shorter time frame, one recommended approach is to start with Photo RF to reduce the color contrast of the darker areas and then switch to laser toning for further treatment.

Laser toning has shorter treatment intervals and is better suited for achieving results in a shorter period. However, laser toning works differently by evenly reducing pigmentation regardless of whether the area is light or dark. This may result in lighter areas disappearing first while darker spots remain, meaning the contrast between spots might not diminish as effectively. Starting with Photo RF to reduce the contrast and following up with laser toning to break down the remaining pigmentation is a more efficient method.

After Photo RF, it takes about a week for the pigment to rise to the surface as waste and peel off. Once this process is complete, you can proceed with laser toning. Note that laser toning does not cause the peeling reaction seen with Photo RF. While treatments are commonly performed twice a week with laser toning, depending on your skin's condition and the doctor's judgment, the intervals may be shortened to every 4-5 days.

If darker spots still remain after other treatments, you might consider using Photo RF as a final treatment. For those who want to achieve significant results in a short period, combining treatments such as oral and topical medications, chemical peels to promote skin turnover, and iontophoresis to enhance the penetration of whitening ingredients is recommended.

For first-time users, there is a trial course available that combines chemical peels, Photo RF, and iontophoresis. You can try this course first, then proceed with a trial of laser toning, and consider signing up for a course package for continued treatment.

If the blemishes are not granular but instead diffuse across the skin, it may be indicative of melasma. In such cases, treatment focused primarily on laser toning might be more effective.

In any case, the decision on whether to combine Photo RF with laser toning or use laser toning alone will depend on your skin condition. The appropriate treatment will be determined and implemented accordingly.

I have spots around both cheekbones that a local dermatologist told me were probably melasma.
I also have a spot (about 1 cm in diameter) on the middle of my right cheek that started appearing 15 years ago and has gradually grown in size.
I would like to have these spots removed with laser toning or other treatment methods, but should I avoid this season when UV rays are stronger?
I will be traveling for a week, so I don't think I will be able to avoid UV rays completely.

For melasma, three fundamental treatments are required as a baseline: avoid rubbing the skin, practice thorough UV care, and use oral and topical medications. On top of this, laser toning is recommended as a gentle treatment to break down pigmentation without irritating the melasma.

If the foundational treatments are neglected, issues may arise, such as the pigment reappearing after stopping treatment or needing more sessions and a longer duration because the melasma's activity was not properly controlled. Regardless of whether it is before, during, or after treatment, if you want to effectively address melasma, it is highly recommended to consistently follow the foundational treatments.

There is no specific issue with starting laser toning treatments at any time. However, to prevent worsening melasma, enhance the treatment's effects, or maintain the results, it is crucial to stay vigilant, even when traveling or engaging in activities that might expose your skin to UV light. The timing to start the treatment may depend on how well you can organize your schedule to attend regular sessions.

Once treatment begins, it is advisable to follow a regular schedule, ideally every 1-2 weeks. If there are significant gaps between sessions, it might be better to start the treatment after you have completed any travel plans.

If you can begin the foundational treatments in advance, even on their own, it will help minimize UV-related worsening of melasma and provide a good starting point for effective treatment.

Chemical Peeling

Blemish

What kind of treatment is chemical peeling?

Chemical peeling is a treatment that improves skin texture as well as resolving all kinds of skin problems such as acne, dullness, open pores, prevention of skin aging, and improvement of moisture retention. Healthy skin cells are renewed in a 28-day cycle (turnover).
When this turnover cycle is disrupted by UV rays, stress, aging, and other factors, various problems such as acne, dullness, fine lines, and dryness occur. Chemical peeling removes dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and restores normal skin turnover.

Why is chemical peeling good for acne?

Acne is said to begin when pores become clogged for some reason. Chemical peels not only peel the skin, but also clean the pores. The effect of cleaning the pores improves not only the current acne but also the white, clogged pores that will occur in the future, and prevents the formation of red pimples.

Why are chemical peels effective for all skin problems?

When old keratin is removed by chemical peeling, skin metabolism is activated and new cells are produced. Regular chemical peels are effective for all kinds of skin problems such as acne, dullness, fine lines and wrinkles, and dryness, as the skin is replaced with new skin.

Does the peeling cause pain?

There is a slight tingling and itching sensation when the peeling agent is applied, but it is not a strong pain or itching.

What will my skin look like after treatment?

Some patients may feel a little flakiness for 1 to 3 days after the treatment, so it is recommended to keep the skin well moisturized. Also, since the skin is sensitive to ultraviolet rays, we recommend the use of sunscreen.

What is the time and interval between treatments?

Treatment time is about 30-40 minutes, including counseling. The interval between treatments should be about once every three weeks.

What is the difference from esthetics?

Since many cases of burns and nerve damage have occurred as a result of esthetic clinics and self-esthetic clinics not being familiar with the risks, a recommendation to ban the use of esthetic clinics has now been issued. Although this treatment is only available at medical institutions, there are still some cases of esthetic clinics performing this treatment. It is also a good idea to consider treatment at a medical institution to avoid risks.

Is there any downtime such as redness and swelling?

You may experience some mild burning immediately afterwards, but it is usually enough to allow you to wear skincare and makeup and go home as usual. If you have any concerns about any changes in your skin, you are always welcome to come in for an aftercare consultation. We can also treat your symptoms accordingly, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

How often should I go?

It is believed that the lifting effect is maintained by continuing the pace once every three to six months.

Can you explain the treatment to me in detail?

First, we will examine your skin by asking you about your concerns and wishes in detail. We offer a wide range of skin treatments, and the doctor will recommend the treatment that best suits your symptoms and wishes.

I had a facial treatment last time and would like to add the neck area as well.

This treatment can be performed not only on the face, but also on the neck area and body. The same area can be treated at any time, as long as it is not the same area. Please allow 3 months for the same area.

Is it possible that when the effect wears off, the patient will be more flabby than before the treatment?

There is no The activation of stem cells produces new collagen, and the skin structure that has deteriorated due to aging is rebuilt. The skin will gradually return to its original state over time, but it will not be worse than before the treatment. It is like turning back the clock a few years. The effect will remain, meaning that the difference between treated and untreated skin will be permanent.
