Is it possible to have a NIPT test if injected with heparin?
The use of low-molecular-weight heparin is known to alter DNA in the serum, with a high frequency of errors during the use of heparin injections.
The half-life of heparin is said to be 4~6 hours, so it is advisable to discontinue use for at least 48 hours (at least 12 hours) before blood is taken for NIPT if possible, or before starting use.
I am taking heparin, can I have a NIPT test?
If you are using heparin preparations, the test may be affected.
Temporary cessation of use is requested for 12 hours prior to blood sampling. Always consult your doctor before stopping use.
The clinic will not be held responsible for any irregularities that may occur in the cessation of use in any case, such as at the discretion of the attending physician or at the discretion of the patient’s own physician.
Note that use can be resumed immediately after the blood sample is taken.
In the unlikely event that the blood has been used within 12 hours prior to the collection, please call the toll-free number below to change the date or time of your visit.
※If you are using any medications other than heparin, please make sure to inform us on the day of the test.
(2)Triploid, Tetraploid
Normal somatic cells are diploid (2n). This is the triploidy and tetraploidy is found in the foetal period. In triploids, the foetus cannot live for long with 69 chromosomes due to the number of chromosomes (3n), but it can be born alive.
Triploidy is most often the result of two-sperm fertilisation and can also occur when diploid oocytes or sperm are formed. Triploidy of paternal origin results in an abnormal placenta.
In addition, triploidy of maternal origin results in spontaneous abortion in early pregnancy. Tetraploidy results in 92 chromosomes due to the number of chromosomes (4n). When this division occurs in the sex chromosomes, the chromosomes XXXY and XYYY are sex chromosomes without sex chromosomes.
How much blood is drawn?
Blood collection volume 10 ml (some plans may differ).
Can amniocentesis support be included at a later date?
Enrolment in amniocentesis support is only possible at the time of the examination visit. Please note that it is not possible to enrol at a later date.
What payment methods are available?
Both the test and amniocentesis support fees can be paid by credit card.
If you wish to pay in cash, please prepare the change in advance so that there is no change.
