Inspection plans
The tests are for one foetus (single fetus) or twins.
I was a little nervous, but the receptionist and nurses were very kind and cheerful and made me feel at ease during the NIPT. I was guided to a private room, where I was given an explanation while rehydrating with mineral water. There were various plans for the NIPT and I was a little confused, but on the day I could watch a video on a tablet and decide on the plan again. I spoke directly with the doctor to finalise the plan. I had some concerns and questions I wanted to ask, but the nurses were friendly, so it was easy to ask questions and they explained everything thoroughly and politely, which helped me to get rid of my concerns. The blood draw was painless and the nurse was very good. I thought the test would take about an hour, but it all took about 30 minutes. I was notified of the results five days after the blood sample was taken. I had a lot of anxiety during pregnancy, but I am glad I had the test because I was able to eliminate my worries about chromosomal abnormalities early on.
There are clinics all over the country and I decided to have my prenatal check-up here as there was a lot of information available on the internet. When I arrived at the clinic, my first impression was that it was clean and the whole floor was bright. The colour scheme of the chairs and other furniture was red and the interior was simple, but it felt clean. The receptionist was smiling and helpful throughout the visit, which made me feel at ease. Immediately, I was shown to a private room and offered a bottle of water from a PET bottle, which was very thoughtful for a pregnant woman. While drinking this, I watched an instructional video on a tablet. After that, the doctor explained to me remotely. The doctor was nice and smiling. I opted for the easy 90,000s course and the reciprocal. I was told that the needle was thicker than usual when drawing blood, but I didn’t feel much pain and the nurse was very good. It was very smooth and the whole thing took about 45 minutes! I thought it would take longer, but it was done quickly! Thank you very much!
The clinic is easily accessible from Sapporo Station and I was able to get there without any difficulties at all. The clinic was clean and the nurses were polite and relaxed. At first, I watched a video about NIPT and then had an interview with a doctor remotely. At that time, you can discuss any questions you have and the details of your plan. The doctor who was in charge was very calm and relaxed. The nurses were also very attentive to details such as whether the room was too hot, and they talked to me lightly when they took my blood. I was told that I would receive the results within five days, but I received them three days later in the evening. It was also good that I could check the progress of the test from My Page. I am glad I took the test to reduce my anxiety as much as possible.
I was interested in NIPT before I became pregnant, but I was worried about whether I would take it or not because it is self-funded and expensive, and I heard that follow-up in the event of a positive result is not very good at non-accredited facilities. I was worried about whether to take NIPT or not, but Hiro Clinic (1) has a nationwide network, (2) offers a wide range of test plans, so I could choose one that suited my budget and the items I wanted to check, and (3) offered a guaranteed amniotic fluid test in case of a positive result if I joined the grant-in-aid scheme. The appointment was made on the same day and I arrived at the clinic smoothly without any hesitation. It was a small clinic in a building and although the doctor was not very friendly, the nurses were very helpful and the blood samples were well done. The results arrived by email in about five days, which I think is quite fast, so the anxious time waiting for the results was very short and very good. I heard that in big cities like Tokyo they also offer foetal dock (echo), and if they do it in Sapporo in the future, I would definitely like to have it in combination if I have the chance again next time.
My current obstetrician and gynaecologist was not positive about prenatal diagnosis and did not affirm my wish to have a prenatal diagnosis. Therefore, while gathering various information on prenatal diagnosis on my own, I discovered HIRO Clinic. The price, location and number of days of examination were in line with my wishes, so I immediately made an appointment and visited the clinic. The clinic was clean and the staff were very helpful, and the examination was very thorough with video and Q&A. The blood sampling was also very good, and although the needle was a little thick, the pain was the same as a normal blood sampling or even less painful. I was in the clinic for less than an hour. It went by very quickly. I know there are many opinions on prenatal diagnosis, but as the person concerned, I have no regrets whatsoever about having the test carried out. I am really glad that I found Hiro Clinic this time. If I have another pregnancy, I will be looking forward to working with you again.
As I had previously undergone a NIPT test at Hiro Clinic in Saitama, I had trouble registering my email address and when I called, the receptionist was kind enough to help me. On the day of the test, the receptionist, nurses and doctors were all very nice and the test went smoothly. Because I am elderly, I decided to have the test done at this clinic, where the results are quicker to come back. I had the test on Saturday morning and received the results on Wednesday evening. I was very grateful to be able to check my progress on My Page, as I was very nervous every day until I got the results.
