Time to results
For all plans, results are typically available in approximately 5 days on average.
*The timeframe may vary depending on the test items and total sample volume.
*To keep testing costs affordable, multiple samples are processed together in batches. In addition, the day the sample arrives at the laboratory is counted as day 0.

About the Positive Score
We attach a “Positive Score Report”※※ that combines the positive score and the positive predictive value, based on the results of over 70,000 NIPT cases conducted to date at Hiro Clinic NIPT※.
This report serves as a baseline for decision-making if your NIPT results are positive. It is included free of charge with the standard results.
Please note, however, that the Positive Score Report will not be attached for tests taken before 10 weeks of gestation. It is exclusively provided when a test taken at or after 10 weeks of gestation returns a positive result for Trisomy 21, Trisomy 18, or Trisomy 13.

About Amniocentesis Support
At Hiro Clinic NIPT, we offer a choice of three “Amniocentesis Support” plans to ensure peace of mind in the unlikely event that a test result returns positive. You can choose a plan that best fits your desired subsidy amount and support needs.
The support fee is a one-time payment made at the time of your initial test. For those utilizing Early NIPT, this single payment ensures continuous support coverage through to any retesting done from 10 weeks of gestation onwards.
In addition to recommending medical institutions where amniocentesis can be performed, Hiro Clinic can also handle the analysis of the amniotic fluid sample itself at our group’s Tokyo Clinical Laboratory.

Criteria for Amniocentesis Cost Subsidy
① If any chromosome from 1 to 22 or the sex chromosomes (all chromosomes) returns a positive result, subsidies will be provided for G-banding and qf-PCR testing.
② If a partial deletion/duplication or microdeletion across all chromosomes returns a positive result, subsidies will be provided for G-banding, qf-PCR, and microarray testing.
About Consultations by a Physician
For patients wishing to have a medical consultation after their NIPT, a physician is available to consult with you.
The consultation on the day of your NIPT is included in the test fee. However, for consultations on days other than your testing date, a consultation fee of 4,000 JPY (4,400 JPY incl. tax) will be charged.
If you would like to request a consultation, please contact us by phone. Appointments will be accepted based on the attending physician’s schedule and availability.
If you would like to guarantee your flight/delivery, an additional fee of 44,000 yen (including tax) will apply. Please apply in advance. While same-day requests may be accepted depending on availability, please note that we may not be able to accommodate them.
Cancellation of Guaranteed Booking.
Please note that if you cancel your guaranteed booking after signing the consent form on the day of your visit, you will be responsible for the full amount. There is no cancellation fee if you cancel before signing the consent form.
Applying for Guaranteed Booking
- The guaranteed service delivers specimens to the laboratory using a combination of air and land transportation. Therefore, due to factors such as bad weather, natural disasters, or public affairs, we may not be able to return test results within the guaranteed timeframe.
- We guarantee that testing will be conducted as quickly as possible once the specimen arrives at the laboratory; however, this does not guarantee a specific result reporting date. Please note that test cancellation and refunds for testing fees cannot be accepted.
- Even if you apply in advance, we may be unable to accept the guaranteed service on the day.
- If it becomes clear—even right before the specimen is shipped—that we cannot return results via the guaranteed service due to service suspension or flight cancellation, we will inform you and issue a refund. The clinic will cover the bank transfer fees.
