In addition to Tokyo Hygienic Laboratory, other companies in Japan that offer NIPT testing include Hiraishi Clinic, DNA Advanced Medical Corporation, Japan Genetic Medicine Corporation, GeneTech Corporation, and Riz Medical.
Hiro Clinic outsources its inspections to the Tokyo Sanitary Inspection Laboratory.
Tokyo Hygienic Laboratory uses the Veriseq V2 system for NIPT testing, which provides rapid output of results and is stable.
Hiraishi Clinic and DNA Advanced Medicine Inc. also use the same Veriseq V2 system, so the accuracy is no different from that of the Tokyo Hygienic Laboratory.
Japan Gene Medicine Co., Ltd. is a NIPT certified laboratory with Sanno Hospital and International University of Health and Welfare as clients.
There is no difference in testing accuracy between the Veriseq V2 system and non-accredited facilities because the Veriseq V2 system is used. Recently, GeneTech has also started using the Veriseq V2 system.

What is Medicover method?
The advantage of this method is that it can recognise the type of foetus, so it can be used for vanishing twins and surrogate mothers.

Hiro Clinic has over 40,000 test results, which are analysed by clinical laboratory technicians, who link the NIPT data with the amniotic fluid test data to produce a positive score that detects the accuracy of the test results.

Only 21, 18 and 13 trisomy tests can be performed in certified facilities. In addition, the test is basically carried out after three weekday counselling sessions with the couple.
